We’re Magnetic Grows Executive Leadership Team

Leading experiential firm We’re Magnetic announced today three significant hires across its business and creative departments: Managing Director Tim Hutchins, Group Creative Director Emil Filip Czarnowski, and Group Business Director Courtney Balzer. The new hires come as the firm continues to grow its existing client partnerships with American Express, Netflix, Pinterest, and Shopify, among others, as well as add new ones.

Tim Hutchins joins We’re Magnetic as Managing Director. He will lead the firm’s client services, business, and creative leadership practices through strategic creative thinking fueled by consumer insights. He brings nearly 20 years of experience delivering award-winning, innovative commercial solutions for a number of clients, including Ascential, Nike, USA Rugby, Investec, and Knight Frank during his time working with leading creative agencies, including Wolff Olins, Brand Union, HMKM, and venturethree. Before moving to New York in 2017, Hutchins ran the European office of independent creative group, Switch Design, where he oversaw all client and agency operations across business development, creative, strategy, and recruiting.

As Group Creative Director, Emil Filip Czarnowski will lead all creative operations across strategy, production, and design at the firm. He brings a strong track record of creating experiences at companies like Valtech North America, MKTG, TracyLocke and Mirrorball, overseeing creative output for top brands, including L’Oréal Paris, Heineken, Perrier, Smirnoff, and Harley Davidson, among others. At TracyLocke, he oversaw all creative direction across the entire Pepsico International portfolio, including Pepsi, Gatorade, 7Up, Mirinda, and Tropicana. Czarnowski also founded his own creative shop in 2012, Emil Filip X New York, which specializes in creative direction, strategy, design, and brand development.

As Group Business Director, Courtney Balzer will manage and advise on integrated business and strategy initiatives to support the development of new opportunities, as well as the continued execution of elevated brand experiences across We’re Magnetic’s client portfolio. Over the past decade, Balzer has worked for some of the world’s best-in-class agencies and brands. A highly versatile and dynamic leader, she has helped to create groundbreaking activations for a variety of CPG and lifestyle brands across North America, including partnerships, sponsorships, advertising campaigns, and proprietary events for clients, including Heineken USA, Harley Davidson, Campari, Red Bull, American Express, Moët Hennessey, Food Network, Constellation Wine Brands, and Calvin Klein.
