Coursera Taps Dr. Betty Vandenbosch as New Chief Content Officer

American online learning platform Coursera has hired Dr. Betty Vandenbosch as its new Chief Content Officer. Betty replaces Dil Sidhu, who is heading back to the UK to be with family. The new Chief Content Officer will join the company effective 13 April 2020.

In March, Coursera reached an important milestone. It now boasts of 50 Million registered online learners, who access a vast catalog of top-quality and stackable learning content from the leading university and industry partners. The online learning company also announced how registered learners are relying on resources such as Science Matters: Let’s Talk About COVID-19 from Imperial College London and The Science of Well-Being from Yale to find relevant information about the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

At Coursera, Dr. Betty Vandenbosch will head all content-related roadmap as the world faces unprecedented change and moves more rapidly online to learn.

Previously, Betty has been a part of the Purdue University Global and the Weatherhead School of Management. In her 25 years of academic leadership, research, and teaching experience, Betty oversaw academics for thousands of students. Throughout her career, Betty has won several awards in teaching and research. Betty earned her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and an MBA from Western University in Ontario, Canada.

Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO Coursera, wrote on his official blog –

“At Coursera, Betty will be responsible for further deepening our ties with the partner community, working closely with them to advance content and credential innovations in line with learner demands and labor market signals.”
